Benefits Summary

Employee benefits at Holy Cross Hospital include a generous package providing coverage for health and dental care, 401(k) retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, paid time off and a number of other unique benefit programs.

Health Insurance

For employees and eligible dependents. Options include a choice of an HMO or a PPO plan. Employees may elect to waive coverage. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Dental Insurance

For employees and eligible dependents. Options include a choice of a dental PPO plan or dental HMO plan. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Vision Benefit

Health plans include a vision discount program. Additionally, optional coverage can be purchased for employees and eligible dependents. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Health Care Flexible Spending Accounts

Pre-tax employee spending accounts to cover eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account

Pre-tax employee spending account to cover eligible dependent child and/or adult care expenses. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

A combination of vacation, holidays (6), personal, and sick days are paid from this bank.  All regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible.  Accrual is based on the number of hours budgeted to work.  Employees begin to accrue PTO after 90 days of employment.

401(k)Retirement Savings Plan

All benefit-eligible employees are eligible to participate.  New hires are automatically enrolled at 3%, the first of the quarter following 30 days of employment.

Employee Life Insurance

Hospital paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance equals one times annual base salary to a maximum of $100,000 each. Employee paid supplemental coverage is available up to a total of 5x annual base salary or $500,000, whichever is less. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Spouse Life Insurance

Employee paid coverage available.  Up to a maximum benefit of $250,000 may be elected. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Child(ren) Life Insurance

Employee paid coverage available; benefit of $10,000. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period.

Short-Term Disability

Employee paid coverage – 66 2/3% weekly pay replacement for a maximum of 6 months. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 6 months of employment for all regular full-time employees budgeted to work 72 or more hours per pay period.

Long-Term Disability

Hospital paid coverage – 66 2/3% monthly pay replacement for a maximum of 6 months. Coverage effective following 6 months of employment for all regular full-time employees budgeted to work 72 or more hours per pay period.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Available for employee, spouse, and dependents. The EAP provides confidential access to a variety of resources to help deal with personal issues. Available to all employees, eligibility begins with first day of employment.

Tuition Reimbursement

Provides monetary reimbursement for your professional development. Courses should be related to the current position or a reasonably predictable job at Holy Cross.  Up to $2,000 maximum reimbursement per fiscal year for full-time employees.  Eligible part-time employees will receive a pro-rated amount. Benefit effective the first of the month following 6 months of employment for all regular full-time and part-time employees budgeted to work 40 or more hours per pay period. Registry and temporary employees are not eligible for tuition reimbursement.

Parking

Bi-weekly payroll deductions for the Hospital parking structure. All employees are eligible.

Direct Deposit

Option available to have payroll checks directly deposited to the bank of your choice. All employees are eligible.

South Division Credit Union

Offers checking and saving accounts, loans, credit cards, and Christmas and Vacation Club accounts. All employees are eligible.

Fitness Center

The Hospital has a fitness center with various exercise machines and weights available free of charge to all employees.
